While there’s already a section on this in my FAQ, I feel I should expand on it a little more. Especially since there’s been such a surge in followers and surge in questions regarding my academic background & reasons for it. I’ll answer the most asked questions in detail, like:
- What art school do you attend?
- What do you study?
- Do you like it?
- Why do you study it? (Especially if you don’t enjoy it?)
- What will you do afterwards?
- What advice do you have for those struggling with with their academic/career choices/family pressure?
- And etc.
I feel like this is a very telling story about minority [especially Asian] artists who are held back by their very loving, forgivable parents who just want the best for their children.
I bought Rice Boy. <3
That is all. I’m super excited. Uhhh here’s another preview of that one thing I’m drawing.

I don’t finish a comic page in one day. I have to do it over the course of a week [I have the attention span of a goldfish, mind you]. But I guess it would take me a day, if I just buckled down and got it out.
Pretty decent for a book adaption, and very fun to watch. I thought the casting was done well [they definitely fit my ideas of the characters!] and it was a strong script. Though I understand their reasons, I still can’t believe they totally took out the last part of the book! Goodness gracious! I was shocked!
Anyway, I was reminded of the epicness of His Dark Materials. Note to self: re-read the series again.
Okay, since I feel bad for not updating, here’s a progress shot of the comic page I’m working on.
