If there is one pet peeve I have about comics above all others, it is the very bad arrangement/overall presentation of balloons and texts. Artists always tend to overlook this very integral part of comic-making, especially in webcomics.
So please. If you are making a comic, please spend that extra 2 seconds to make sure your text is centered. To make sure that it’s not ramming into the edges, or it’s too small, or that the balloon isn’t crowded, too big, etc… It’s honestly the easiest way to make a comic more presentable. Think about the whole page, not just the art.
[And DEAR LORD SPELL-CHECK IS YOUR FRIEND. SO IS GRAMMAR. I can’t stress that enough.]
End of reader-wangst rant.
I was rereading some of Gunnerkrigg Court, and I came across some of my favorite panels:

What’s pretty impressive about this is that, although it seems pretty straightforward, the reader has to wonder which phrase correlates with which figure in the panel. It really adds to the mystery and intrigue that is the fabric of GC.
Also, I am so excited for tomorrow’s update. I am checking at 12:00am tonight, no joke.
I miss writing a lot. It’s like I lost a friend.
