But what else can you say about your world. I seem to only have the vaguest idea of what it is I'm sorry to say. Is there anything that you can direct me to as to fill in some of the basic blanks? Totally late Worldbuiling Wednesday question due to the fact that for approximately 2 hours I apparently didn't even exist. Also, that's really cool about the Chuck Sheetz thing. I meant to mention that earlier but kept forgetting too. And I feel like a complete jerk for doing so.

Haha, I unfortunately keep most of it in the dark, mostly because so much of the world building only gets revealed a little later in the story. So out of necessity I don’t say much about it (plus I’m shy haha). There are spatterings of information throughout my dA, but other than that, my comic is available (and that is still in the first chapter!).

Basically, the world of Wayside Manor is set in an alternate 1880-90s England. This is around the time where Christianity is still very prevalent, but is on the breakdown due to new ideas. In our history, it’s because of the introduction of Darwinism, which caused a period of disillusionment and an increased emphasis on scientific observation. In this world, it’s going to be for a different reason.

Which explains why Vincent, the main character, is shown wearing a cassock in the most recent page, aside from personal reasons. Back then most colleges had religious affiliates, and it was common for some graduates to go into clergy.

More will be revealed as the comic goes on, but for now, it’s still in its baby period. ):

Haha, don’t feel like that! But yeah, Chuck is really awesome. He tells us about how he directed certain productions, and his insights are really informational, and I feel like I know more of the business than I did before.

This got too long for the reply box and I don't feel like trimming it down xP Hmmm, so there are vampires in your comic, correct? What /kind/ of vampires are they? Pretty classic? Or are there characteristics you've taken liberties with? If it's not too spoilery. :)

Haha, I deleted the post lobrien is replying to (because I got self conscious and assumed no one would ask a question pffff).

Anywayyyy, yes they are pretty classic. Burns in the sun, can’t be near holy things, eternal life (if they aren’t torched or beheaded), blood dependent, etc. I also added a few random qualities that I came across in my vampire research as well (like grain-counting). But all standard stuff.

The only difference really between my vampires and vampires of classic literature is 1, how they get their blood and 2, how they congregate/interact with the world. I’ve basically set it up to parallel the union groups and immigrant communities of 19th/20th western world. Because of that, the vampires have more of a political agenda rather than the usual musthaveblood thing. But of course, there’s outliers as well in that. That’s all I can really say for now. :)

You go to UCLA, correct? Well now I'm attending a school in Santa Monica which isn't that far of a drive from the campus, so maybe we could meet up sometime before our semesters end?

That I do. We could do a little sketch crawl while we’re at it! When are you available?
