If there’s one thing I love about Periscope Studio, they’ve been introducing me to a lot of comics I probably wouldn’t have ever picked up before.
I’ve seen Prince Valiant as a kid, but I always considered it as “the big kids’ comic,” so I never bothered to pick it up. But today I wanted to see some good references for fight scenes, so a studio member suggested Alex Toth’s Zorro (another really fantastic comic) and the comic above by Hal Foster. Holy crap. I really love Prince Valiant. The art is just mind-blowing, and the story line and characters are just so wonderful. I pretty much spent the day today just reading.
Is it weird that I would like to meet a guy like Prince Valiant one day? Minus his haircut? Oh nevermind, I would take him with his haircut too.
