Sorry for the lack of original updates, everybody. I’ve been animating pretty much everyday on top of other classwork and work study. Blah. Here are two stills I supposeeeeeee

For my class final, we had to take one scene and color it using digital flipbook, the bane of my existence. The colors are soooo crappy, and I need more inbetweens and I kind of hate this but WHATEVER. I’ll move on. My goal is to finish my all of my rough animation by mid-April, so I can have time to actually make this film look good.

I’m seriously debating on just coloring it all in photoshop… I’m serious.

Oh god, I’m going to die next quarter. I have to make a 16mm short film on top of this too.

So I watched this adorable animation last year, made by my classmate Henry Zhang. And seriously, it is adorable and I am just so proud/jealous/in awe of his skill in design and animating beautiful things and composition and oh my gosh just watch the film please

(Also this was his first year animation. What.)

My friends and I went to the Annies tonight, and it was so much fun, gah! Some big highlights were:
Adam and Dog by Minkyu Lee winning Best Animated Short Subject
Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2) winning the Annie for Directing in a Feature Production
Rango winning the Best Animated Feature (the visuals are beautiful, definitely gonna watch it soon)
Patton Oswalt (voice of Ratatouille) being an excellent and freakin hilarious host (please host the Oscars, please you are so funny augh)
Everyone standing and applauding for June Foray
And finally, the presenters accidentally telling the winners of a category they WEREN’T presenting
Definitely going again next year, and I’m hoping to buy a ticket into the VIP party. And also, an epic quote from the Winsor McCay Award winner (and the amazing artist behind 101 Dalmatians and Sleeping Beauty) Walt Peregoy:

Everybody has a talent. Everybody has a good reason to be alive. Everybody has a reason to be proud of their accomplishments. And what is the world filled with? Assholes.

See? Epic.

It’s my animatic for the final film I’m working on! It will be done, dammit!

For all the time I spent on this… it still looks pretty rough, hahaha! The music I had in my mind went along with a song from the Coraline soundtrack (and surprisingly it fit very well with the beats in the film), but since it’s copyrighted I can’t use it here. Doesn’t matter anyway since I will be working with a composer in a few weeks. Exciting!

Also, the title is still pending! Titles are hard to make.
